I went out and ran a mile after putting Violette down to bed. I did better than previous runs, in that my heart rate stayed in the 160s instead of up higher like it was the run before. I slowed my pace just a little bit, but I imagine I’ll get that back when I get my heart in better order.
Today’s Core was just Regeneration. That’s all kinds of stretches using rope to help extend past the normal unassisted range of motion, and then foam. The foam roll is this long tube of high density foam that you roll across. It gives a deep workout to your muscles, or rather a good stretching (smooshing?). Whatever the case, it kills the first few times you do it, but according to the book, your muscles will show you their quality when you can use the foam without pain.
I’m loving the Core Performance workout (again, not counting the inconsistencies in the tables).
Reading Mind Gym right now. Really neat book about the motivations of athletes.
