Live from JFK

So I had a fruitful meeting with the team planning Video on the Net. We laid out some great speakers and some superstar topics. We talked about ways to make it more relevant to the disruptors and new media kings (that’s you). I think we’re building a nice experience for March 20-22 in San Jose.
I’ve decided to brand the majority of what I’m doing inside pulvermedia as Network2.tv. I’m getting business cards made that say that. I have an email accout there (details coming soon). The meetups that Jeff and I and Peggy are planning are going to be branded Network2 events.

The Meetups

So, I’m planning to take my advocacy on the road. I’m going to roll into town where there are media makers, and I’m going to want to hang out, share thoughts about videoblogging, the future of video created for the internet, and some beers. The cost of you showing up? Conversation, your contact info, if I don’t have it, and your interest in this bit new media ecosystem.
I’m building the schedule now, but here’s what I’ve got in mind. You tell me:
*Week of Oct 23-29. Montreal. Work for you, Casey, Rudy, Julian, Ben, *.* ?
*Nov 4 – The Vloggies in San Francisco. Are you going? Get in touch. Which hotel? I’ll buy you a drink, and I want to talk.
*Dec ? – Frickin Circus in Boston. – We’ve to something special in the first week or 2 of Dec. I know a circus music superstar, a performance artist, and they together know some neat circus types. I thought we could mix a great spectacle with some fun media discussions (like your ideas about videoblogging, short film shows, markets, and other stuff).
These events are one part mixer/networking, one part talking about what we started talking about at PodCamp and rolled into VON, and are a way to keep the energy alive on this. It’s the spirit of opening up the conversation to others, including the oldschool media and the folks who’ve done this a different way in the past. We are inclusive, and want to talk about the future together, not crap on the past.
That’s what I’m thinking anyway. Are you going to join Network2.tv for these events? (Actually, let me know by comment or email if you think you want to come.)
Last one: I’m going to start creating more video content for Network2. I can’t wait. There are all kinds of neat shows we’re talking about, and I’m tapping Justin’s brain on some stuff, too, being my resident brain on such matters. In fact, I asked him to help me with the “unStudio” for Network2.tv’s Boston area studios.
Alright. I’m here for a while, with no phone, but email and I’ll turn on IM for a few minutes while I noodle through the long emails Ben and Whitney leave me. : )
