100 Blog Topics I Hope YOU Write
People often ask me how I come up with things to blog about, and I find the question strange, because my problem is the opposite. I have too much to blog about. Why? Because there’s a whole fast revolution rolling through, and right now - today - is our time to make it all work for us. If we’re going to show people how to use social media to drive meaningful conversations instead of being yet another marketing tool, we have to run out and educate at a break-neck pace, so we can bring more and more thought leaders into alignment with these big and not-so-big organizations who could use our help.
So, on my plane ride home from San Francisco, I decided to write you up 100 blog post titles that I want YOU to write. Take one of these and run with it. Make the coolest ideas from whatever these spark in you, and keep coming back to these as often as you want. Bookmark the page. Copy/paste it into a notepad file. Whatever works for you. Or just use them as a way to bounce into better posts of your own devise. Make podcasts. Whatever works for you.
One favor? Would you throw a link somewhere back to http://chrisbrogan.com ? Pretty please? Thanks.

Don’t know why my blog (snowulf) decided to send 2 trackbacks. Sorry about that. Regardless, I sat down and wrote #54. Personally I think this was an awesome idea. Its an excuse to everyone to write, and to “Compare notes”. A community working together is always a good idea.

Nice one Chris, really good idea for a post.
I’ve taken a stab at #22:
http://pigeonbeaks.com/2007/09/20/number-22-if-i-were-an-advertiser-today/
and look forward to reading all the other efforts
Strikes me that if folks need a list of things to write about, ideas from someone else, then they will soon run out of steam on their chosen topic… I feel that if you can’t write about something important to you with imagination and enthusiasm, then, whatever it is, it is not that important to you, and you clearly have no enthusiasm for it.
I suppose you could imagine you have those attributes, but since you clearly lack imagination, (or you would have thought of your own blog topics), you’ll probably struggle with that too.
Nice idea, Chris, it would be nice to see the opportunity to be creative taken, and the medium exploited, while it’s hot, but some people are simply not up to muster. there’s a limit to what you can do to help them…
Cool list and clever post. Two ideas… it might be interesting to put a website up that reposts all the posts folks write, categorized by your titles. Reading different people’s approaches to the same title/topic could be interesting. You could also take one article on each of the titles and put them into a book on LuLu… proceeds to support some worthy community cause as it would be a community written book… Just a thought…

How about idea #101? How I got started in the blogging business? (or something similar). Thing is, I would like to blog but there are so many options, I don’t know where to start! Or “Twenty Things to Consider When Starting a Blog”. Is there a primary site out there like “All About Blogging”?
I started a PB Wiki for the list - it’s at http://blogspark.pbwiki.com/
I figured there’s a lot that each one of these items can cover (expansion on each topic) and figured we could add links to posts that people have written on each item.
No reason we can’t expand the list beyond 100, either.
Great list–thanks! Sarah Wurrey and I will both be picking one (or more) to post on…I’ve been suffering from a bout of writer’s block lately and this is a terrific way to jumpstart the process.
Fab list - thanks a bunch for the prompters.
I’ve been trying to explain No 51 to someone today… alas they still don’t appreciate the value of organized chaos.

I think this is a great idea, making a nice big list of topics helps on those slow news days with plenty of time to write a post.
To combat this when I think of ideas I either write them in Sidenote or I make a draft post on Wordpress and use the title later to fully complete the post.
I think I will be using some of your titles for conversation starters, and I might make a list of topics myself.

Interesting list, Chris. Check after a month how many have been written about. What about adding ” Thinking about Blog Topics to write about”?
Thanks Chris. I’ve taken a half dozen of these topics and made drafts from them. I doubt I will write any of these in the next month. For one, it takes some time for me to process my thoughts in a coherent way and get them down. I often have several posts that I work on for weeks and months before I publish them. You’ve got some great ideas here - and things that I want to see myself. Maybe in Boston, I’ll have one or two ready and can point you to them.
