You know, sometimes I take it for granted that you know who I am. I thought I’d share.
My name is Chris Brogan. I run a media and education company called Owner Media Group. We sell courses and tools for learning. My big belief is that I want to teach people to be Owners: to have their own mindset and path in hand when facing the world. I teach people how to connect better through various media tools. I teach them how to lead themselves, how to find confidence through developing better discipline. I teach a lot of personal and professional development skills. (I do a VERY limited amount of coaching, mostly through Clarity).
I’m also an author. I write books.
I’m a professional speaker. My largest audience was 7500 people, but I’ve given talks to a sixth-and-seventh grade career day as well. I love the stage and connecting with people in that way.
The kinds of work I’ve done has spanned everything from sales and marketing to human resources and business leadership. I’ve consulted with huge companies and I’ve spoken with leaders at some of the biggest corporations in the world. I even had the fortune to present to a princess once. I’ve been on a few TV shows as a guest, and have been on a gabazillion podcasts.
I have my own podcast, if you feel like listening sometimes.
I’ve been very successful, and I’ve had many failures. All my best learning has come from failure. All my greatest wealth has come after losing it all. My greatest hope is that I can share everything I’ve learned along the way, including both the good and the bad, so that you might steer your ship towards your own great goals.
Personal Life
I’m a father to two wonderful kids of my own, and counting my girlfriend Jacqueline Carly’s daughter, I think of us as a family of five. I’m also son to Stephen and Diane Brogan.
I’m very big into fitness and health for the last few years, including having completed a Spartan Race (yes, more in the future), and I am at the gym training almost every day of the week.
I’ve practiced Buddhism (Shambhala lineage), have chanted various Hindu chants, and have read the Bible and the Quran a few times. My overall belief is that we’d all do better if we worked to be our own best version of God’s intentions, even if your god is a tree or the wind.
I love to read (voraciously), watch movies (mostly big screen superhero movies), and I love keeping up with people on places like Instagram. My taste in music is somehow pegged in the 90s more than anywhere else (a blend of 90s hip hop plus various shouty bands).
And I’m very emotional, very quirky, have a weird sense of humor, and love people (most days).
That’s who I am. At least today.
Who are you?
