The Backpack Show with Chris Brogan is a business TV show that runs live on weekdays at 10am ET on Facebook Live (often simulcast to YouTube, Twitter, and elsewhere), and available on demand on YouTube after the fact. Business advisor and author Chris Brogan and his co-host, Kerry O’Shea Gorgone interview a wide variety of guests on topics such as creativity, innovation, leadership, and bravery. The show runs approximately one hour.
The Backpack is about equipping business people with tools and insights they can put in their own backpacks to move through today’s ever shifting landscape. Through entertaining interviews and additional insights, we explore ways to tell your own story, collaborate well with others, and build an ongoing practice of execution.
The Backpack Show is an interview style production with one or two guests (sometimes we open it up to many more) with a heavy component of audience interaction. The live audience who come to see the guests and hosts are very much a part of the show experience and add to a very participatory morning show element.
Chris Brogan is the New York Times bestselling author of 9 books and counting. He is an international keynote speaker and business advisor for some of the largest brands in the world. Chris started blogging in 1998, podcasting and video production in 2005, and was user 10,212 on Twitter. He loves people, media making, and figuring out how to help people express themselves in the best world.
Kerry O’Shea Gorgone, JD, MBA, is a lawyer, talk show host, educator, and writer. She explores people’s weird collections and cool hobbies on “Punch Out With Katie and Kerry,” and interviews marketing stars for MarketingProfs. She serves as Consigliere and Showrunner for Chris Brogan Media and creates training programs for marketing professionals in her role as Educational Content Director at MarketingProfs.
The show is distributed to over 350,000 Twitter Followers, 10,000 Facebook Followers, and across platforms like LinkedIn and elsewhere. While live viewership is often low, because the show lives “on demand” on all those platforms, accumulated views grow over time.

How We Choose Our Guests
We take almost zero pitches from PR agencies, but mostly because people don’t do their homework. This show is a bit different than other business shows insofar as we want to always blend a mix of fun and interesting people (Broadway stars, magicians, race car drivers) with business titans and up and comers alike.
Most of our guests, we already know, or know loosely enough that we’re brave enough to reach out to them and ask them to be our guest. (Cue Lumiere and Disney music.)
While we do make some paid guest opportunities available, those are strictly guarded, as the community we serve is the most important customer we serve. If the people who come to see the show won’t like your person, we won’t be putting them on the show. (Contact Chris to discuss these: [email protected])
The Backpack Show is actively committed to inclusion so that we support voices from all the cultures, genders, and perspectives that enrich the business world we find so beautiful. We love bringing new points of view to bear on people who might have previously only been exposed to a limited scope of thoughts and ideas.
We’d love to work with you to see if The Backpack Show is a good fit for promoting your products and services. The community we serve spans small to large business organizations, B2C as well as B2B. We promote consumer and business products, physical goods as well as software.
(Chris really wants Johnsonville to sponsor the show because Johnsonville Brats are the best!)
