Work Life Balance?

Work Ethic I just finished watching a documentary on Paul Levesque, better known as Triple H, a professional wrestler, now helping shape the WWE and sports entertainment. In it, the recurring theme was that Paul had a very strong work ethic, that he pushed harder, worked harder, did more than those around him. His intense level of dedication to his work brought him the success that he earned throughout his career.Lots of people argue that it's difficult to reach those levels and still have a life or a family. Anyone who works hard is often cautioned that it will ruin your relationship, that you'll never get to see your kids, that you can't have a thriving career and still have a life worth living.

Is There Such a Thing as Work Life Balance?

I think the question is part of the problem. I don't think balance is the goal. I think we seek to thrive. Grant Cardone says that he wants excess in both quadrants: work and home life. Why settle for a balance where you can seek really thriving levels of success with both? And I agree.

But it's not easy.

Time and Family and Work and Owners

Both Rob and I have families. Lots of owners do. And figuring this all out doesn't come easy. I sure didn't handle it well a few years ago in my career, and it led to a lot of complications. But everything I learned from the experience, plus what Rob has taught me with his Work Like you're On Vacation course, plus all my conversations with Owners over the last handful of years have led us to a lot of discoveries that we think can be helpful.

Join Me for a Webinar on How to Handle Time and Family as an Owner

Our next in a series of webinars, The Owner's Heart talks you through our ideas on the following:

  • What causes all these time problems?
  • How do we build some simple systems to improve our use of time?
  • How do we accomplish even more with the time we have?
  • Is there such a thing as work-life balance?
  • What do we do to keep “home” happier, especially when we’re busy?
  • How do we build a level of understanding between ourselves and the people we need to care about at home?
  • How do we build some simple systems to improve our use of time?

And more!

Yes, it will be recorded. Yes, you'll find it very useful to you whether you're an employee or the owner of your own company. If you don't have a family at home, you can substitute the ideas on family with how to interact with whoever makes up your closest social circle.

We promise it'll be worthwhile, if this is a challenge of yours.
