How do I teach my teams to lead and express themselves better remotely?
The distance between idea and execution is vast. From the moment a leader first attempts to convey the vision of what they want their team to accomplish, people start to lose the thread. Leaders speak about objectives. They point to numbers. They talk about a book they read and repeat other people’s words.
Leaders learn quickly that people take some strange paths to try and reach a goal. They realize that attempting to tell a story in numbers is like trying to serve soup with a pencil. And so they spend a lot of time correcting their teams, reworking effort that doesn’t line up to the original vision, and stepping in to make decisions that they thought should be completely obvious. This costs time and money, induces frustration, and generates friction.
Let Me Ask You This
Does your vision and message reach all the way to the people who need to execute? Is your perspective clear to the people your organization hopes to serve? Is your story brief, clear, and inclusive so that people know they’re in the right place?
Everyone’s business environment is in a perpetual cycle of resilience and adaptation, organizations need to convey more information to more people faster, and in a way that feels participatory.
StoryLeader™ is leadership training via a guided process designed to help leaders work smarter by using the power of well-crafted stories to motivate and guide your team towards better execution of the organization’s vision. It is a tool to transfer leadership DNA to everyone the story comes in contact with.
We make this work for you. We help you deliver a story others can pick up and make their own so that everyone works together in the same direction with more understanding and less friction. Smart leaders use stories to do the heavy lifting. Lead with a strong story.
People can work for anyone. They work for your organization because they invest in your story and want to be a meaningful part of it.
Get Started with the StoryLeader™ System

I’m Chris Brogan and I help leaders work smarter. Let’s make tools to help your organization run smooth and deliver value.
The StoryLeader™ process begins when a leader realizes their organization needs to move faster and with more clarity and confidence if they hope to motivate, innovate, and deliver the most value for their stakeholders.
Problems you’re looking to solve:
- Team alignment/communications issues around major objectives.
- Decision making slowdowns and bottlenecks.
- Excessive conflict and misunderstandings.
- Marketing/branding efforts out of alignment with organizational intent.
One: We start with a discovery call. This is either one-on-one or with your executive team. You talk. We listen. We share back some initial perspectives and decide together if there’s a path forward.
Two: Research comes next. Our team conducts interviews, seeks out potential rough patches, and formulates materials to collaborate on reworking how leadership DNA is shared throughout the organization’s systems.
Three: we meet in person for a three day leadership skills workshop. Day 1 is the full lay out of the StoryLeader™ system, presentation of existing research, and collaboration with your organization and the StoryLeader™ team on building story materials. Day 2 is a brief morning presentation and then the StoryLeader™ team works privately (usually offsite) to create materials for the organization’s StoryLeader™ process. Day 3 is the presentation of your organization’s stories (the master story and however many unique stories correlate to that), review, revision, finalization and handoff of workshop materials.
Deliverables from the workshop include all research, workshop notes, finalized StoryLeader story documents including the master story as well as all unique stories. The process sometimes ends at this handoff.
Options:
The primary StoryLeader™ process ends at the conclusion of the three day workshop, but there are options to consider:
- Leadership training – one day onsite or remote training with select individuals to craft your company’s StoryLeader™ materials and teach how to use business stories to deliver organizational directives and intent.
- Marketing/Sales strategy – consult and convey the results of the StoryLeader™ experience to the marketing and sales team to ensure improved organizational alignment between leadership and ongoing sales/marketing efforts. (This bridges the leadership elements with marketing/sales).
- Keynote presentations – available for internal and external conferences and events to deliver your StoryLeader™ materials in a vibrant presentation style to the organization or to prospects or clients.
